Jesus Calling is an excellent devotional. I was given the book by a friend when I was having cancer treatments. The devotionals really hit home during that time and even today. The daily devotionals are written in such a fashion you feel like Jesus is talking to you personally. The key to me is the follow up verses. I usually read more than the suggested text to get the real flavor of that particular given verse. God's word has come even more alive to me than in previous readings. I highly recommend Jesus Calling for those individuals that seek to have a closer relationship with Christ and to feel his love and encouragement for us all.

I can't say enough about this little devotional. Reading it each day is like having an intimate one-on-one with Jesus & it is written in such an encouraging way that it's impossible to stay discouraged if I'm down in the dumps. It's hard not to read ahead to get fuel for the next day but instead I just bask in His message for the day at hand & praise Him for His words of encouragement, challenge, correction & unfailing love. What a Savior!

FOr those who can get beyond reading another's concept of what God would say, this is a good book. I find it useful for occasional devotional material, but not very often. It still is mildly offensive to me for anyone to speak for God, however well intentioned the author is.

This has been such a wonderful devotional. It is always what I need to hear and feed my soul on that day. She has such wonderful insights and scriptures everyday. This has been such a blessing.

"Jesus Calling" devotional is by FAR the best devotional book that I have ever read. Each day as you read the scriptures and the devotional; you literally hear the Lord speaking to you. The words come off the page and shoot directly into your heart. Not only has it moved me incredibly; everyone who I share the book with has expressed how powerful and impactful it is. We have flooded our local Christian stores with purchasing it; so there are no more left in our area store. Had it not been for Christianbook.com; I would not have been able to order this extra one for a friend's birthday. I highly recommend this devotional book!!

Everyone should have this devotional book.
God the Father and Christ His Son speak to me from every page. The supporting scriptures underpin the message, and it is the perfect way, along with prayer to begin the day. I wouldn't think of beginning my day without it.
