The book is all it claims to be! It is light reading on a heavy topic. It provides a nice balance for those who are seeking to find a church or to know a little more about churches in general. I purchased multiple copies to use for a study and to distribute to those who are looking for the right fit for a place to worship. I don't agree with all the perceptions or conclusions of the author, but I was not expecting to do so. Nor am I concerned that we differ at some points. I do appreciate, however, the seemingly evangelical perspective that shines through the basically objective analysis.

This is a great book. It could be used to teach a class on 'why so many denominations?' The author makes no bones about her background, yet presents the material in a straight forward, unbiased description that is refreshing and clear. I have recommended this book to several people, and have given it as a gift - I liked it that much.

I enjoyed this book because it describes different denominations and explains their history. I also enjoyed the stories about the people in each denomination. I do wish that there was more info about how to specifically find a church home, but all in all it is great to use because it lists other resources at the end of each chapter that you can use for more research. Great deal!

Excellent, humorous, educational. It also was a fast read. I enjoyed it. Only complaint is the frequent typographical errors... someone wasn't paying attention!
