Do you ever wrestle with a nagging sense of disappointment ... that life isn't what you thought it would be ... that you aren't who you wanted to be ... that faith seems more complicated than it should be? Do you find yourself longing for ... something better?
As Nancy Guthrie shows in this journey through the book of Hebrews, there is something better. There's something better than superficial spirituality, better than meaningless ritual, better than a life bound by shame and regret. And that something better is within your grasp.
With stories from her own life and struggles as well as solid insights into biblical truths, Nancy applies the ancient truths of Hebrews to your very real needs of today---significance, security, and hope for the future---and encourages you to refuse to settle for anything less than the something better you've been hoping for all along.
Who wants to merely go through the motions of religion? We long for something authentic--something worth opening our hearts to, filling our minds with, and giving our lives for. We hope for something better than the "churchianity" of our parents and the vague spirituality of our neighbors, something better than guilt-induced, holier-than-thou morality, better than here-and-now, health-and-wealth promises. In her thought-provoking and authentic style, Nancy Guthrie shows that Jesus himself offers the something better weve been looking for, applying the truths of Hebrews to real-life issues such as guilt, shame, disappointment, hardship, unhealthy obsessions, personal ambition, and fear of death.

This book and its companion devotion journal are 2 of the best helps I have ever used in a study. Hoping for Something Better has something on every page for our women and the 1 yr Book of Hope is just awesome. I bought it as a help for a study group and have ended up using it as a personal devotion. Each of the women (8) in my study group are planning on purchasing it for themselves. I will be looking for additional writings from Nancy Guthrie.
