I bought this product at my son's request for his birthday. He reports that the all star pass was his favourite feature of this work and would really recommend The Word of Promise for the 12 to 16 year old crowd.

It is a great product. Both young and old can get a feeling (yes feeling) for the word of God.This translation also makes it easy for every generation to understand the context. I also was impressed by the ingrroductions of the books. I would highly recomend this item. thank you.

This is really cool because you can listen to the new testament along with reading it from your bible. It's just an awesome way to learn the new testament even for the younger generation by using some celebrities they will know.

My 15 year old daughter has been very faithful about reading her Bible, so our attraction to this product was not to get her to at least listen to the Bible; but, rather, we were attracted to the celebrity cast! My girls are both fans of Disney. We were even more impressed when we went to the official Word of Promise Next Generation website and read the bios on the cast of characters! Of course, I love anything that Max Lucado has anything to do with, so I was pleased to see that both he and his daughter Jenna also play a part in this audio production.
In addition to the cast bios, the website also contains freebies (such as wallpaper for your computer), a 40-day listening plan, current events, and a donwloadable audio sample.
As always, I'm impressed with Thomas Nelson. In working with youth, I have certainly learned that you need to reach them where they are. This audio version of the Bible is a great way to do so and would make a wonderful gift to any teenager (or pre-teen) that you may know. It would also be fun to use in a Sunday School or youth group setting.
My only "issue" with this product is the fact that they are mp3 cd's. They will play on any mp3 compatible cd player (we listened on our computer), but we were unable to listen in the van. I'm sure that this 3 cd set will get plenty of use around our house, though. Check it out!

I haven't listened to all of it yet, but what I have listened to, is great. We listen to it in the car and it is a blessing. It's hard to get kids to read the Bible, this is a great alternative to getting God's word into our children. It's done by teenagers and young people, who your children can identify with, who have a passion for Christ. The price is great, too.

This is an amazing rendition of the New Testament. There is so much passion in the characters, that you can't help but be moved as you hear the Gospel unfold. I like the freshness and vitality of this version of the Scriptures.
The ONLY drawback that I see (and it is a personal one) is that there is too much time between track changes on the CD's. It reminds me of some past audio files I have of the Scriptures that had a pause at the end of each chapter and then the vaice of the narrator saying, "Chapter 3" and then going on with the narration...this version just doesn't have "Chapter 3".

Through the years I have had various audio versions of the Bible, and all of them were difficult to tolerate as they had some "well-meaning" man speaking in an authoritative voice. To say the least, these audio versions were never used much. Just recently I received a copy of the "Next Generation" and have been blessed by it. The young people who were involved in the project are professionals that are regulars on the big screen, but they have given of themselves to help produce a audio Bible that is truly enjoyable to listen to. The presentation is like a radio drama and one can sit and listen for extended time and just enjoy the message of the scripture. The commentary at the beginning of each book is very helpful in understanding the purposes of each book. The DVD that is included is a blessing, as many of the participants in the project speak of their faith and desire to be a part of the project. I strongly recommend this product!
