I love this bible! I have bought several for friends and they love it too. It's a wonderful way to read the Bible thru in a year, and it has so many study facts throughout that, although I have been a teacher for years, I am learning more and more about God's word, and I love to share it!

I was thinking to buy a chronological Bible for my study of the Word of God. Having reviewed a few pages of the book from CBD’s web site, I am disheartened to see that there is an effort put in, to compromise the authenticity of the Word of God. In my opinion, the Epoch One Theory time lines given elsewhere are not Biblical. Bible is the original and authentic document and other documents created should fully support and be based on the core Biblical facts. Also the Time Capsule chart appearing on page 5 (stone age 26,000 B.C. in Japan etc) shows that the author is trying to compromise the Biblical facts and to please the scientists and secularism. Any effort to compromise the word of God will be dealt by the Holy Spirit appropriately. Now I have to look for some other publication that does justice to the Word of God.

This is a New King James Bible with it's text placed in the order of event occurrence. Every Christian home should have a copy.
First, the version is the New King James. This translation is a literal translation with a beautiful flow to it that is reminiscent of the old King James (also known as the Authorized Version) without the old English. I have found this particular translation to be an accurate translation of the original texts.
Second, the order of the text to demonstrate its chronological order is a wonderful help to better understanding not only the order of events in the Bible, but it is also helpful in understanding the Bible message. For example, the placement of the Major and Minor Prophets in their corresponding chronological context helps one understand the purpose and message of each book. Of special note is how well the text was ordered faithfully to Scriptural events, contrary to the practice of a previously published chronological bible from another publisher.
Third, this study bible is filled with articles and notes that explain countless historical facts that help bring the text to life. There are articles which share comparisons of the text to period literature and explain time lines, geography, and culture. The editors divided the bible into 9 epochs (time periods) that add to the understanding of the contexts. Included in the back of the bible is a daily reading schedule to assist the reader in reading through the Bible chronologically in either one or two years. Also included are a glossary, a concordance, an index of Scripture passages, and a listing of Cultural and Historical Topics. All of this is in full-color throughout the entire bible with full-color maps, photographs, illustrations, graphics, and parchment-like backgrounds.

I have only just begin on the Chronological Study, but have read all the information up to Genesis 1. It explains greatly what the book contains, and what the reader can expect, and from what sources. I have my King James handy, and compare now and then. I am enjoying this Bible very much. Alot of information, so far.

Hmm... stone tools from Japan circa 26,000 B.C. and the earliest human settlements circa 8,000 B.C. You think it would have taken less than 18,000 years to put a hammer to good use and build a village or two. Just goes to show how secular thought has unduly influenced Bible scholars and Bible publishers. This Study Bible would have been a welcomed edition had it not been for this desperate attempt to harmonize biblical truth with secular theories that don't even agree with one another.
