In 1700s Northampton, Massachusetts, Sarah Edwards made a comfortable home for 11 children, a stream of guests, and America's greatest theologian. Although living with a genius had its difficulties, Sarah and Jonathan enjoyed a warm domestic life. Dodds paints a fascinating portrait of a remarkable couple who were deeply in love and adored by their children. 232 pages, softcover from Audubon.

There are no easy marriages!
Marriage to a mate who is principled and Godly and strong could well be much more difficult than marriage to a easy-going wimp.
If you are in a difficult marriage, well so was Sarah Edwards. But she was also blessed in their marriage. And Jonathan Edwards was blessed to be married to her.
This is a great book.
Read it and appreciate your own marriage and your own mate.
Then YOU make your marriage better.

Perhaps a better title would have been Marriage to a Godly Husband and Father. This book has encourged me to see that God truly does work through generations. What I do today as a wife and mother matters not only to my husband's and children's present, but to their futures as well. Sarah Edward's godly influence on her childrens' characters was evident not only in their lifetimes, but in the lifetimes of many generations to come.
