Product Description

Created from the author's own imperfect experience with record keeping, this organizer is based upon the holistic 'learning lifestyle' that continues 24/7/365. There is room to record what was done each week from Sunday through Saturday on the left hand side, while character boxes fill up the right. Eleven box 'subjects' include spiritual life, learning about science and technology, reading and literature, caring for the body, creative expressions, and other specific training categories. The center box contains a changing picture and scripture verse. There is also room for books that have been read (or been read to!), grades, test scores, awards and notes for whatever else you'd like to keep handy. This book contains 52 weeks worth of room. Spiral bound with plastic protector covers.

Andreola Review

One of the constant tasks of a homemaker/home teacher is to make order out of what (if left to itself) would be chaos. Those reading this know exactly what I mean, down to the last detail. With a little planning, however, daily lessons and a marathon of meals run more smoothly and steadily. I like the writing spaces of this record-keeping book (or planner). The carefully worded subtitles cover the school subjects in a flexible way. Jot your activities in these boxes and chart how well you are accomplishing your goal to create a well-rounded lifestyle of learning. You’ll have to plan your meals elsewhere but on second thought . . . you could jot a simple dish in the box marked “Learning to Work: Chores, Service, and Life Skills” and guide your children in doing a little of the cooking. Other boxes help you focus on character-building along with academic knowledge and skills.

A 2-page spread provides a week-at-a-glance, leaving a margin for the child to fill in “What I Did This Week.” Each week greets you with a new decorative photo and a verse of Scripture. Although the covers are “cute,” we are using one for high school. Spiralbound softcover.

I've used these "Learning lifestyle" record books for my son and daughter for the last 2 years and I LOVE THEM! The simplicity of filling in these sections is so helpful in keeping track of what we've done. My kids are now in 2nd and 3rd grade, so I do the "filling out" but when they get older I'll definitely turn that over to them. It's amazing to see how much we're actually doing for "school" when you look at all the activities of the day. This record book is a simple way of making sure that you're hitting all the character aspects of raising and teaching your kids. It's an exciting way to track the year and see just how much we've really accomplished! Sometimes as homeschool moms we can get discouraged...not feel like we're covering all the bases. This book helps you stay on track and is a huge blessing when reviewing what you've done! It's essentially a Learning Lifestyle Diary of activity! Thank you Notgrass Family! You've blessed our family more than you can know! Kim Babcock

We really love this book! My daughter (high school aged) used this to keep a record of her year of learning. She had to really think about what she had done each week and that really gave her a sense of accomplishment! We are in ministry and being able to include that in her learning record shows how God is using her; in fact this kind of record shows evidence of that in all areas of her life! It's a beautiful way to log her progress! As her teacher, I can see that we are accomplishing God's plan for our daughter. On those days when I wonder what good I'm doing, I can pick up this book and see that, yes, we really are in God's will!
