Pastors and their families are under a lot of pressure. Pastors appreciate encouragement from others whove been in the trenches. In ministry since 1962, H. B. London understands the needs these leaders encounter in our postmodern cultureon-the-job, in their marriages and with their families. His heart is to encourage pastors and instruct them in the practical pastoral issues they struggle with daily. Now the countless conference talks, e-mail devotions, and encouraging messages of H. B. London have been expanded and revised to create a timeless series of devotions for pastors. Topics like personal integrity, your familys call to ministry, and marriage growth are discussed from a caring mentors perspective. The devotional also deals with leadership issues including staff relations, unity with your congregation, counseling families through grief, and many more.
HB London, Jr. has once again outlined his amazing insight, wisdom and encouragement through this wonderful new book for pastors and their staff, Pause, Recharge, Refresh. Through 365 anointed devotionals, HB touches on nearly every topic that relates to living in the "fish bowl" of Gods ministry life. This book is written not only for pastors, but also their family members, staff and anyone else involved in offering the world the hope of Christs redeeming love. As the daughter of a former pastor who is involved in full-time ministry efforts, I have been extremely touched by each entry. Thank you, HB, for compiling such an insightful and thought-provoking tool. I strongly encourage individuals to purchase a copy as a gift for their pastor as well as any ministry leader in their lives. In doing so, you will equip them with not only great information, but also a special outpouring of Gods amazing grace to everyone called according to His purpose!Sydna Masse, Ramah International, Inc.
H.B. London and I were neighboring pastors during the 17 years he was in Salem. He is a wonderful friend, and really no one surpasses his insights into the life and challenges of the pastor. Every page stands alone as counsel, encouragement, instruction and inspiration to stay faithful and enjoy what God has called you to do.Denny Davis, pastor of the Friendship Church in Sun City, Palm Desert, CA
I have enjoyed reading through the devotionals. As stated, they are like having a conversation with a trusted friend and ministry partner. From time to time, it was impossible not to smile. Through his wit, H.B. has a way of making even the most stressful issues become just a little lighter.Pastor Brandt, Shepherding the Shepherds ministry

I found Pause, Recharge, Refresh to be a refreshing book to read. Designing the pages to potentially be read one page a day keeps the book visible on my desk and ready to be picked up anytime. However, I found it hard to just read one page at a time. Like a dinner dessert, I needed just one more bite that often led to ten or more bites. Knowing HB well, I found this to be very reflective of his positive and creative mind and lifestyle. One statement he makes really sums up what I know to be true about the book and HBs life: The church is not a style show; it is an expression of Christs love to a searching world.John A. Payton, Regional Director of Planned Giving Point Loma Nazarene University-Arcadia
