Penned in 1900, Torrey's timeless classic has guided generations of new (and seasoned) believers into a richer, more effective prayer life. With chapters like "The Importance of Prayer," "Obeying and Praying," "Abiding in Christ," and "When to Pray," it provides Scripture-based lessons on maintaining a devotional and worshipful lifestyle. Updated for the modern reader, words, expressions, and sentence structure have been revised for clarity and readability.

This book really allows an understanding of the close relationship of prayer in a disciplined mans life, and how we can also attain that.

This is my first book that I've read on prayer, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it was an excellent read. Torrey obviously is very knowledgeable and wise concerning prayer and has seen real results. My prayer life is not what it should be, and this book has definitely helped me. I would recommend this book to anyone on prayer.
