Tell us a little about yourself. I live in Missouri with my husband, three children, a dog and a
cat. I am a stay-at-home mom, a substitute teacher, volunteer
and freelance writer. This is my second Arch book. The first one
is called Mary Magdalene's Easter Story. I have a Christmas story
coming out next year, and I hope to write more in the months
and years to come.
What was your motivation behind this project? Concordia Publishing House asked me to write the story. It was a
challenge to fit all ten plagues and a Gospel message into a
sixteen-page storybook, but I think it turned out well.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This story clearly presents both the ramifications of hardening
one's heart against God and the loving protection that God gives
his people. It also shows that things happen in God's time, not
ours.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I had the pleasure of attending a writer's conference in the
summer of 2002 with several other authors who have also
written Arch books. Cindy Hinkle wrote Star of Wonder and has
another story coming out next year. Jon Schkade wrote Get Up
Lazarus! and Susan Hammond wrote The Lord Calls Samuel. Go
Warrior-Poets!
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My mantra for this project was Phillipians 4:13: "I can do all
things through Christ who strenthens me." What a source of
comfort in today's busy society!
