Long considered one of the best conservative commentaries on the entire Bible, the
Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary offers practical insight from a Reformed Evangelical perspective. The comments are an insightful balance between learning and devotion, with an emphasis on allowing the text to speak for itself. Volume one covers Genesis through Esther, volume two covers Job through Malachi, and volume three covers the entire New Testament (Matthew through Revelation). Introductions are offered for the Pentateuch, the Mosaic account of creation, Hebrew poetry, and for each book in the Old Testament, as well as for the gospels, Acts, Romans, and the entire corpus of the epistles.
Overview of the Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown: - Theologically conservative (Reformed Evangelical)
- Uses the King James Version (KJV) or the Authorized Version (AV)
- Covers every book of the Bible
- A verse-by-verse commentary from the original languages
- Semi-technical (some knowledge of Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic necessary to fully understand all of the comments

I thought these books are so facinating with a lot of the information that is needed in my study. Also it is the best deal for the price and I would encourage individuals to have this a part of their library.

I give this a perfect 5 for content & price. Don't let the size of this commentary fool you, it is packed with information, alot of which is exegetical in nature. It can be brief at times. I think it makes a great secondary or third set. It would also be a jem to start out with & later build a set of individual volumes of other commentaries. I highly recommend this product for content & an economic price. You could get by on this one if you are limited on funds.

I enjoy the set of commentaries very much. I
use them for reference when preparing for Bible
studies. However one draw back is the small
print. I would not mind seeing it made into a four volume set so the print could be larger.

The J.F.B. is a tremendous asset to any library. The unbelievalbe low price is unbeatable. I already had the one volume edition which lacked the fullness of it's richness. which goes without saying, anything abridged just falls short. It is a little bit of a difficult read to the novice, but as with anything ,persistence pays off . Some knowledge of the original languages is very much helpful. If you keep a good concordance handy, any difficulties go by the wayside. I would recommend it to any true seeker of conservative truths.

Old but trustworthy, this is the best commentary I have seen in years, other than opinions, they get right into detail. Well done, and highly recommended to avoid all the sects in Christianity today.

A wonderful Biblical commentary that has endure because of sound scholarship and the correct approach to the Word of God. One negative the print is small and this can make it difficult to read at times. That aside this is worth every penny. If you are just starting to build a library this is a great place to start.
