Ben Hur is the powerful story of two friends who share a love for learning and a passion to be soldiers. But before many years pass, Judah Ben-Hur, a prince of the Jews, and Messala, the Roman nobleman and soldier, will also share a deep hatred for what the other has become. This faithful adaption of the Lew Wallace classic underscores the fact that the power of God's love and true forgiveness are the only forces stronger than hatred and revenge. 130 minutes. 2 CDs.
An unforgettable account of betrayal, revenge, redemption, Focus on the Family Radio Theatres production of Ben-Hur tells the tale of a nobleman who fell from Roman favor and was sentenced to live as a slave--all at the hands of his childhood friend, Messala. Once nearly brothers, any hope of reconciliation is dashed after Messala is seriously injured during a vicious chariot race won by the vindictive Ben-Hur. But what makes this adaptation of Lew Wallaces best-selling story unforgettable is the changed man Ben-Hur becomes after seeing Christ on the cross.
Recorded in London with film-style sound, this action-packed production shares that compassion is the true path to redemption.

Focus on the Family Radio Theater and Ben Hur. What a great combination! Two of my favorites combine for great entertainment that is also inspiring. This version emphasizes the true purpose of Christ's life here on earth. Not FOTF's best production, however.

Riveting commuter-book. Appreciated knowing drama closely followed book. The ah-ha moment for me was how Gen.Wallace used Ben-Hur's story as an allegory for the U.S. Civil War (brother against brother, power over the vanquished, forgiveness after the war was only possible through Jesus, etc)

Wow. If I had to confine it to one word, that would be it. This is the most amazing presentation I have ever heard in my life! Not only are the characters, plot, and music extraordinary, but it goes right along with the book, unlike hollywood's presentation. I could go on and on about it. I would recommend this to anyone.

When my friend let me borrow this, I figured I would listen to it just to humor her(being a teen), not relizing I would absolutally LOVE it. I put in during my homework, but got so caught up in it, I had to turn it off for a minute so I could finish my homework before I could really give it my full attention!
I absolutally loved this!
The story is a wonderful portrail of friedship, revenge, redemption and love. It's believable, yet entertaining. The cast for the voices did a wonderful job. Also, the way Jesus is woven into the story is very neat; I've heard the author Lew Wallace received Christ as his Savior while writing the book. I loved the radio theatre so much I asked for and got the movie for Christmas and I am now looking for a chance to get the book. I highly recomend this to anyone.
