If you are looking for a book about what the Bible teaches concerning the God Christians worship, this is it! Buy it, find a quiet place to read it, and get ready to have your mind stimulated, your heart warmed, and your God exalted!

I'm a seminary student (SBTS) and minister. This is one of the best books I've ever read on the subject of God's all-encompassing sovereignty, period. Read with hunger, humility, an open Bible, and a pen. Prepare to be stretched!

If I were marooned in a deserted island and can only have three other books besides the Bible, this would be one of them. Very easy to understand....yet very thorough in its treatment of the doctrines of grace: election, predestination, sovereignty of God, etc. It is God honoring, Christ-centered, & Scripture-saturated. You will learn to love the doctrine of election! This is a "must-have" book.

This is the best single treatment on the doctrine of predestination that I have ever read. Dr. Boettner does a wonderful job covering all the major passages on election and also answers the questions that are bound to arise from considering this doctrine. Every Christian should read this book for a better understanding of predestination.

Have read many books on the doctrine of predestination, but I must confess that this is one of the finest! Boettner is able to deliver this high and lofty doctrine to even the most simple minded. The only downside to the book is its shallow treatment of infralapsarianism/supralapsarianism.

This is quite possibly the most useful introduction to Calvinistic theology that you will find. Boettner's excellent study will be of use to both the Reformed person who wants to understand his beliefs, and to a non-Calvinist who wants to correctly understand the Calvinistic system. The book is not just a study in Predestination; all of the five points of Calvinism are treated in some detail, as well as a number of careful chapters responding to the common objections to Calvinism. Boettner concludes with a wonderful 90 pages on "Calvinism in History". Most readers will be surprised, or perhaps stunned, by what they learn here. If I was to recommend one book to someone who wanted to understand historic Calvinist theology, it would most certainly be this one.

This volume by Boettner is about the best introduction to the distinctives of Reformed soteriology in the Christian world. It is a "must read" for anyone studying the subjects of Predestination and Calvinism. I wish I could put a copy of this book into every Christian's hands.
