Eugene H. Peterson speaks to Christians who realize the necessity for prayer and yearn for it but who find their prayer unconvincing and unsatisfying. Addressing the causes of this dissatisfaction, Answering God offers guidelines for using the Psalms as dynamic tools for prayer. This book opens the Psalms as tools for prayer in a unique and important way. While we often recite or hear a psalm in worship services, I had never thought of using the psalms as the prayers in my private devotions until I read Peterson's excellent analysis. This is a book worth reading and sharing with special friends.
