I have homeschooling for 14 years, and had never found a product for writing that actually explained and taught the process in an incremental and manageable way until Format Writing. My son's essay writing went from a laborious effort to skill - real skill in constructing well-written and formatted paragraphs and essays. His college application essays were successful. He has just finished his first year at an academically rigorous liberal arts college and was well-equipped for the assignments.

My child went from suffering through writing a paragraph in an hour to enjoying writing a paragraph in less than 10 minutes. She can write now. This book breaks down the process of writing so than anyone can do it.

We haven't gotten very far into it, but just from looking through it, it is going to be a good fit for our family. We had tried another program which was supposedly for high school-but it was way below what we were currently doing. I'm glad I found this and I plan to use more of Jensen's writing/grammar for Jr. high with my youngest!

I would have returned this book in an instant if I hadn't already thrown away my receipt. The description of the product gives you an excellent idea of what you can expect from the book. If you are looking for something to help with creative writing this book does not offer much help. It does however live up to its title when it says "format." This book is just formats for different types of papers and essays. Something I can find online anytime.

I love this book. It is very well done. The format makes it very easy to tailor the class to each child's age and ability. It is clear, concise, and exactly what I was looking for.

Finally! I found a book that actually gives the student and teacher step by step instructions on how to write and doesn't assume that we know how. Jensen's Format Writing also gives the teacher guidelines on how to grade what the student has written. I beleive this easy to understand book will be a valueable asset in our high school, home-school and beyond. Thank You!

I'm using this book with my son, and his writing is improving dramatically. The course is very thorough and easy to follow. I love it!
