Life abundant--Jesus promised it and we long for it, yet few Christians seem to have it. Blending lively anecdotes, commentary, and teachings from the Bible, Stanley introduces you to the Holy Spirit. He is not an oversized electrical current you just plug into when you need additional help, or a theological concept, but just as real and active as Christ. He has personality as well as a specific job description and a definite desire to be an active part of our lives.

This book was given to me by a friend in 2004 for unknown reason I just read it this year to the extent of telling everyone about it. This book has allowed me to see how the Holy Spirit works in us if we give Him all the authority. I am also guilty of not given the Holy Spirit the respect and total surrender sometimes. I know better now & I thank God for Dr. Stanley for writing this book, he is my spritual father that I will surely meet in heaven if not here on earth. I really urge all believers to read this book, to be connect with indwelling of the Holy Spirit and never put Him in a box. God has great plans for us as believers but we limit Him in what He wants to do hence we fall short of the indwelling of the Counselor.

This is by far the best book on the Holy Spirit I have ever read. Dr. Stanley's insight on the Baptism with the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit are especially insightful for those who are struggling with these issues. It also answers many questions a person might have. This is a book that belongs on any Christian bookshelf.

This is by far one of the best books I've read. Charles Stanley gives practical instruction on how to develop and discover our relationship with the Lord, which is facilitated through the Holy Spirit. In his conversational style, he illuminates many misconceptions of what it means to be "walking in the Spirit." The Holy Spirit resides within every believer. Charles Stanley--through this book--helps us learn about the identity of the Holy Spirit (it is a "He," a part of the trinity of God), the function of the Spirit (to guide us into righteousness so we can be witnesses of God), and a myriad of other very practical realities of what it means to be "Spirit led." Above all, Stanley shows us that we--as Christians--are to let Jesus live THROUGH us, which means quite simply that we cannot live the Christian life ourselves; it is the Spirit of God that equips us. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I promise you that you will grow in your faith and will find the fruit of the Spirit multiplying in your life as you learn and apply the teachings of this book.

This is such an incredible book! It is very practical and gentle in it's instruction. One of the main things I learned from this book is how to recognize the Holy Spirit's work in my life and then follow his leading, and how to practically flee from sin and turn to God. Would be an excellent book to give to a new believer. But I have been walking with the Lord for 15 years now and this caused a major growth spurt! You will be greatly blessed by this book.
