Introduce your young naturalists to plants---their structure, propagation, classification, and more---with this engaging yearlong classical science curriculum. Influenced by Charlotte Mason and the living books philosophy, homeschooling mother Jeannie Fulbright writes as if she were chatting with her own children, defining and explaining at their comprehension level. Designed to be used with both readers and non-readers, each clearly organized lesson features content-rich narration; notebooking; and hands-on activities and projects using easy-to-find household items. Dissect seeds, force bulbs, make leaf skeletons---and take a close-up look at God's flora kingdom. Grades K to 6. 176 pages, hardcover.

I love the way I can easily adapt it to each of them. Our family has enthusiastically completed Zoology 1 and 2. Botany is just as fantastic as the other 2.

I love the fact that it is written from a Biblical worldview; it has made science fascinating for my children (and for me)! The information is presented in a logical, easy to understand text, and I am confident that my children are receiving the best education available on the topic for their grade level.

HfdmcobbAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent study of BotanySeptember 12, 2013HfdmcobbAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 41) debunking the myths of evolution, this is reason enough to have this book at your house
2) great complete study of botany for upper elementary
3) my only criticism is the text is rather wordy, she could make her point more quickly, however it doesn't seem to bother my fourth grader
I have my child read the text to himself and do a selection of the activities from the separately sold Junior Journal. He once exclaimed, "Hey mom, the people who wrote this book are Christians!" This comment was telling of the fact that most science books, movies, etc. preach evolution.

Q: Are the experiments easy to prepare for and do? Seriously... are the experiment/activities included in this book easy to prepare for and carry out? Are lots of trips to the store going to be needed to gather the materials every time? I don't really want to spend the money on the lab kit, but also know that I might tend to skip experiments if the materials are hard to find. Thank you so much!
For a list of supplies needed to complete the experiments in this book, simply click on the "More Information (PDF)" link located below the CBD stock number.
Q: Can students share the textbook, or do you need a separate book per child?
Students can share a textbook, since all written activities are recorded in a notebook.
