After we finished watching it, we found that it was a true story. This, to me, is what family is all about... the way it used to be... the way we need it to be today. I highly recommend this DVD for family members of all ages.
At times I felt the dad was a little TOO strict, but all in all, I'd rather err in that direction, than go the way of the world today where children have an attitude of entitlement early on. We need more responsible members of society, and this is the only way that will happen.

I do not know why it is sold at CBD since the overall message contradicts the Gospel of Christ. We all need Jesus, but the movie says otherwise.

DiazNew Y ork, NYAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I was not able to get into this movie at all because of the bad acting and at times I found the movie unrealistic and comical. This is just my opinion but I feel in general Christian movies do not have good actors and the dialogue is not believable. I was shocked to find out it was a true story and feel they could have done a better job portraying his life.
Q: Does the movie The Measure of a Man, have LDS roots? I live in Utah and I'm not Mormon. I just watched the trailer and it caught my attention that when they were praying together, they crossed their arms in front of their body, instead of holding hands or just bowing their heads with their own hands clasped together. I know this may seem very trivial, but when you are a Christian living in Utah, it's a little disturbing. The Mormons always pray with their arms crossed in front, like I saw in the trailer.
Athough the writer and directors of this movie do come from an LDS background, the movie does not present the characters as coming from the Mormon faith.
