Larry Richards works were mandatory reading in my college days, so when this volume was made available, I knew it would be good. Richards does what every Sunday School teacher needs: a comprehensive over view of the Bible in teachable lessons with some ideas for instructing kids. The volume is worth the money, but it will not do all of your work for you.
I never understood why some publishers had to rewrite and reprint Sunday School lessons year after year, now with Richard's BIBLE TEACHERS' COMMENTARY, those costs need not be repeated.

If you're looking for a Bible commentary, other commentor is right. This isn't for you. But if you are looking for something that can help in lesson plans, this is an excellent resource. Richards, who develops curriculuum for Children's, Youth and Adult Sunday School, provides excellent resources for teachers. He's the editor for the NIV Kid's Discovery Bible BTW. The commentary provides good basic info and I really like the lead-ins and activities for children, youth and adult classes. It's better than Bruce Wilkinson's (author of "Prayer of Jabez") "Talk Thru the Bible" which is another good resource but only provides an overview. This one actually goes one step further to provide a lesson plan with applications.
