Q) How did you become interested in writing?

A) I have been in missions 40 years in 79 countries. My husband and I started a church in 1952 and pastored it for 25 years. We started a missions agency, Project Partner with Christ and with it started short-term missions which was not being done at the time. It was a new thing and we were doing it with a 40 passenger airplane in the Caribbean and Latin America starting in 1969. With all this history I have tons of stories. Adventure, discovery, rewards, relationships, direction, danger, etc.

Q) What compelled you to write a book on this subject?

A) Because I live it every day. The world is flat, the internationals are here now and we must tell them who Jesus is. There is no excuse now. It's not across the sea, to expensive, a different language, or demanding months and years. Anyone and everyone must now obey the Great Commission.

Q) What is the main theme or point that you want readers to understand from reading your book? Are there any other themes present in the book?

A) Reaching the international students in our universities. They are the future leaders of the world.

Q) Are there some specific lessons you hope readers will learn and apply to their lives after reading your book?

A) See the world and people differently now. Learn the joy of meeting these new people and the wonderful privilege of telling them about Jesus and that they can have Almighty God as their Father.

Q) Do you have a favorite part of the book or a favorite chapter?

A) My favorites would be of the people I am still working with like Sik in the Introduction or the Monk in Laos. These are real people and I pray for them every morning. I think chapters 9, 13, and 16 are very important and helpful.

Q) What makes your book different than any other books similar to yours that are in circulation today?

A) I don't of any other book that teaches "how" to reach all these internationals around us. We have 15,000 Muslims here in Indianapolis and most people are afraid of them. My book teaches us how to find them and relate to them. There are Hindus next door and Buddhists over at the shopping center. What book on the market addresses this?

And my book is different in that I emphasis that we are planting seeds and  and the Lord makes the tree grow. Just because someone doesn't immediately choose to be a Christian doesn't mean you have failed. We are to develop a relationship rather than ask for an immediate decision.

Q) How does the book intertwine with God's call on your life and how you are currently serving Him?

A) This is what I am doing and what I am teaching and showing others how to do it.

Q) Do you have a favorite Scripture verse? What is it and why is it important to you?

A) Jeremiah 29:11 because I didn't plan this and I don't have to be successful in the world's eyes but i do have to be odedient. Also Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,"This is the way, walk in it." I feel His presence doing this and I feel the direction he wants me to go.

Q) Are there any authors that either influenced you personally or influenced your style of writing? Who are they and how did they influence you?

A) Yes, Lucado with his comfortable reading and using stories and dialog. He makes his message a story and I try to do that too.

Q) When you are not writing, what do you like to do? Do you have any hobbies?

A) When I am not writing I am speaking in churches, holding seminars or workshops, meeting new people at the store or down the street, following them up, and also consulting for numerous churches.

Q) Thank you for taking the time to answer a few of our questions. As we close, is there anything else you would like to add?

A) The message is urgent. Urgent for bringing them to Christ and urgent to help the foreigners understand Christian principles and direction. They now live in American and need to know these are the principles American was founded on.
