What aspects of being a writer do you enjoy the most?
When the characters start to flesh out and breath. I can’t tell you how it happens but it is truly magical and the best part of making up stories.
What clubs or organizations are you involved with helping with your writing?
I belong to ACFW, RWA, TWG, HisWriters and a local group called IWG (Indianapolis Writers Group) and a few other groups. Most of the interactions are online but I get out occasionally and chat all things books and writing with them face to face.
What new projects are on the horizon?
I am slowly working on my memoirs and starting to dream up ideas for a new series – three sisters who have special gifts. It has a fairy-tale setting with Steampunk influences. I don’t know if anything like it has been done before so that’s fun to contemplate and a little scary!
What message would you like your readers to take from reading the Forgotten Castles series?
It’s the same message in Snow Angel and all of my books. I write stories that reflect the one true Story – God’s story of our creation. I hope readers get a strong sense that God loves them and has a plan for their lives. That He will guide them through the trials and good and bad times. That His plan is good and perfect and designed to prepare them for eternal life and what God created them for. This life is a shadow of the glory to come. Just keep your eyes (and your faith) on Jesus and everything else will fall into place.
What is your greatest achievement?
My three beautiful sons and a marriage going on 24 years. And my steadfast faith in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit (praise God!). I am blessed beyond measure to be called and chosen!
What do you do to get away from it all?
We recently went on a family vacation to the beach and it was wonderful. I love exploring new places with those I love.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I appreciate you and CBD and all you do for Christian fiction!
