Recently we've heard from a number of our customers concerned that the Koran was available for purchase on Christianbook.com. Their common question is "why would a Christian company carry this book?"
The only reason we carried the Koran was for apologetic purposes.
Some Christian colleges and seminaries use this text for evangelism, missions, and world religion courses. We carried this title in order to make it available to students and other academics who are already purchasing their other course books from us.
We've heard from many customers on various sides of this issue - some questioning whether we carried the Koran in an effort to promote other religions (please be assured this is absolutely NOT the case), others asking us simply to stop selling the Koran altogether, and still others asking us NOT to discontinue it because they need to purchase it for their courses and studies.
After careful consideration, we've decided to discontinue the Koran from our inventory. |
