Voddie Baucham has a message for Christians in today's culture - it's time to take a stand for the truth. In The Ever-Loving Truth, this powerful preacher and teacher addresses the cost of being a twenty-first century Christian and helps you apply the unchanging truth of God's Word to contemporary life issues.

The Ever-Loving Truth draws parallels between committed Christians in our society and the New Testament writers, Peter and John, as followers of Christ who proclaimed and stood for truth in their non-Christian environment. You'll be led to evaluate what it means to be a Christian today and how to apply God's unchanging truth to a variety of circumstances.

Taken from a portion of the Preface: This is not a book about God. To state the thesis somewhat more positively, this book is about life lived before God, what kind of life that is, and what happens when Christian life becomes indistinguishable from other forms of life in our increasingly pluralistic, religiously diverse, multicultural post-Christian society, What one believes about God and the way one lives before God are, of course, closely related. The lives Christians are called to live cannot be separated from the reality of the one before whom they live. But the limited focus of this essay is not on God but on the question of how Christians are to live when traditional interpretations and "practices" of life before God seem to be in eclipse.

This book has been divided into three sections dealing with the aspects that describe disciplemaking in the Great Commission. The first section ("GO") outlines a biblical understanding of evangelism and the difficulties and opportunities encountered as we take the gospel to our postmodern, post-christian culture. In the second section ("Baptize"), the author brings together our understanding of the Bible and our society to determine what methodology will help us to maximize our efforts in carrying out the Commission. The final section ("Teach") will emphasize the importance of a followup structure to be put in place by the local congregation to ensure that baby Christians receive nurture in their walk with the Lord.

What is the church, and what is essential to it particularly in a post-Christian age? In contrast to "the City," that is, the world (including the hedonism and narcissism of popular culture) that virtually all human beings now inhabit, the author calls upon the church to remember that it is "Another City" that does not compromise itself by giving allegiance to any political entity that belongs to this world. Instead, the church has the courage to live, like Israel of old, in the diaspora as a distinct minority, remaining an uncompromising and faithful servant of God's final(though still future) triumph in the risen Christ.

Our world is alive with fascinating new ideas, discoveries, and technologies. But for Christians this can also present problems - especially when the values of postmodernism and secular university life conflict with basic Christian principles. What should Christians do when their beliefs come under attack in the class room or the public square? Loving God with All Your Mind shows us that the answer is neither wholesale rejection of intellectual life and culture, nor blind acceptance of it. The answer lies in understanding that Jesus is Lord of all of life and that everything in life must be carefully viewed in the light of what Christ's lordship means. Gene Edward Veith unfolds a dazzling critique of the post modern intellectual world and culture. He affirms the part that is good and true, but he also shows crucial weakness in the beliefs that have such a hold over contemporary thought. This book shows Christians how to survive and flourish in a postmodern world while affirming the truth of the Christian faith.

No Doubt About It is Apologetics for the non-specialist. Starting where good apologists should - at the root of the problem - Corduan addresses elements of belief, perception, doubt and blind faith to introduce the building blocks necessary to construct a firm defense. By using vernacular, the author presents the material for the novice, but dedicated readers will be able to glean much more than rudimentary tools from the welcoming text. This is a standard primer for the case for Christianity.

By addressing the tough questions through real-life vignettes to start each chapter, Corduan engages the mind and uncovers the weaponry already in the Christian's arsenal, with instructions on its use. Also, his years as a professor of philosophy and religion have put him in touch with the mindset of today's youth, and the book is full of strategies, insights and tips on addressing the post-modern thinking so prevalent in society. Relativism, pragmatism, and nihilism are all discussed in depth, but in terms that any interested reader will be able to understand quickly. Whether as a resource, curriculum, or refresher on apologetics, this book has it all.

In this brief and highly accessible introductory work, Heath White paints the historical and philosophical background underlying postmodernism in understandable, but not oversimplified, language. Exploring the differences between premodern, modern, and postmodern thought White describes what postmodernism means to our view of self, language, thought, the search for knowledge, and culture. Ultimately, White encourages Christians to face the postmodern world with hope and courage without fear.

White's down-to-earth approach invites Christians who otherwise might have avoided postmodern theorizing into this important dialogue, while also providing vital information for those already engaged in the conversation. His questions for further thought after each chapter and suggestions for further reading provide a journey for readers beyond the text.

Before we can reach today's youth with the truth of the gospel, we need to see what they see and hear what they hear. We need to catch the messages encrypted in their culture and understand what's really being communicated.

In Engaging the Soul of Youth Culture Walt Mueller (Understanding Today's Youth Culture), founder and president of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, helps us to navigate the troubling and confusing terrain of teen worldviews so that we can effectively and compassionately pass along good news: our God is their God, our Savior can be their Savior.

In this book Long traces the connections between postmodernism and the emerging generations--Generation X and the millennial generations--highlighting implications for evangelism and discipleship. What emerges is a compelling strategy for ministry that will appeal to a generation starved for a sense of belonging.

While dealing with apologetic issues about relativism and faith was once reserved for non-Christians, today even regular churchgoers have questions that need to be addressed. But not only do the have questions, they often seem to have a totally different mindset of skepticism and doubt that resists authoritative presentations of spiritual truth.

Examining the three central elements of electronic culture the author demonstrates that for those steeped in this culture, meaning arises from the convergence of these elements rather than from any one of them individually. He goes on to discuss how these are already present in Christian worship and how they might be made more evident. In addition, he explains that worship can serve as a corrective to electronic culture and concludes the book with suggestions on how to build worship around an awareness of this new kind of human perception.

Survey: 16 Percent
of Science Teachers
are Creationists

According to a recent national survey, 16 percent of U.S. science teachers are creationists, the Christian Post reports. The study, conducted by faculty at Pennsylvania State University, found that creationism continues to be taught in many classrooms despite judicial blocks. A majority of the almost 1,000 teachers surveyed said that they spent at least three to 10 hours of class time covering evolution, while a quarter of those surveyed said they also taught creationism and intelligent design - about half of whom said they believed these to be "valid, scientific alternative to Darwinian explanations for the origin of species." Four states have passed "Academic Freedom" bills protecting teachers' and students'rights to challenge Darwinism without fear of backlash.
