I don’t know. I have always enjoyed trying to communicate clearly and writing has been means to sharpen my skills. What compelled you to write a book on this subject?

My conviction that character, and character development, are essential foundations for leaders. What is the main theme or point that you want readers to understand from reading your book? Are there any other themes present in the book?

God shapes character in the life of every leader. Continual spiritual formation is a process for every leader. Are there some specific lessons you hope readers will learn and apply to their lives after reading your book?

I hope every reader will develop a more disciplined approach to shaping their character through spiritual reflection and the practice of spiritual disciplines. What makes your book different than any other books similar to yours that are in circulation today?

This book is about being a leader, not doing leadership stuff. It is a book about shaping character, not learning a list of skills to master. How does the book intertwine with God’s call on your life and how you are currently serving Him?

My call is to shape effective Christian leaders who accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission. This book is about the character shaping, spiritual formation required of every leader. That message is foundational to my understanding of my call. Do you have a favorite Scripture verse? What is it and why is it important to you?

I Cor. 4:7 “For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?” When you are not writing, what do you like to do? Do you have any hobbies?

I have been a baseball umpire for the past 12 years. I have umpired on ESPN!
