As a single 20-something in ministry I have found it increasingly difficult to connect. Most of the speakers I worked with were in their 40’s and beyond. All the events I booked were high school or marriage events. What about the singles? And why is it that almost ALL books & ministry events to singles focus on dating? It’s my hope to bridge the gap of the stereotypical ministry to singles. We want more. We want to know God and be known by Him. That is why I wrote my first book, “Faithbook of Jesus” and am working on a subsequent title “Beginning With Brokenness” to encourage my generation to process through their hurts and find freedom in Christ. My coming to faith story started at a young age, however my daily walk with Jesus didn’t start until I was 15. I have a stack of journals to prove it (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbIgRgjm4Ps). While I understand not everyone enjoys journaling, there are so many other choices out there: Devotionals, One-Year Bible’s, Daily E-mail verses, nature, community groups, etc. The key is to be consistent. Choose one and give Jesus 10 minutes of your day each day. I promise you won’t regret it!
Favorite verse: “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).
