...is a series of books which explain and apply the message of Scripture. Its concern is to be helpful to ordinary Christian people by encouraging them to understand the message of the Bible and apply it to their own lives. The reader in view is not the person who is interested in all the detailed questions which fascinate the scholar, although behind the writing of each study lies an appreciation for careful and detailed scholarship. The aim is exposition of Scripture written in the language of a friend, seated alongside you with an open Bible. Designed to be used in various contexts, they can be used simply as an aid for individual study, for devotions, to read in the context of the whole family or for group study in Sunday School class, home or college. The NIV text is included with study guide material divided into thirteen sections, and directions for leading and participating.

When John Mark wrote out his "good news" about Jesus two thousand years ago, his Gospel was a completely new kind of book. No one had ever written one before. In fact no one would have known what a Gospel was... What made the Gospel of Mark unique was this: it was not written merely as the memoir of Jesus as a great man, not even as the greatest man who had ever lived. Rather it was meant to persuade its readers that Jesus was the Son of God...Who is Jesus of Nazareth? What is the good news(gospel) about him?...This commentary provides us with Mark's answer.

John's Gospel has been described as so simple that a child may wade in it and so profound that an elephant can swim there! This shows how the same Gospel can be both a point of entry for those who are new to the Christian faith and a favourite haunt for those who know and love the Bible well. Mark Johnson guides us through John's acount of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He shows that the Gospel of John can be seen as the reflective Gospel, a selection of the works and words of Christ for detailed contemplation. John takes us by Christ's Person and the wonders He has accomplished - so that the reader should come to living faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, and have eternal life in His Name.

The Acts of the Apostles is unique among the books of the New Testament. Of the four men who wrote an account of the ministry, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, only one, Luke, continued the story into the decades which followed. Without his book, we would be unable to explain how the still-frightened band of disciples, seen behind closed doors at the close of the Gospels, became the boldly expanding movement seen in the rest of the New Testament.

Let's Study Acts will lead you with clarity and insight through the amazing process by which Jesus' words were fulfilled: 'You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth' (Acts 1:8). Softcover, 371 pages.

The letters of 2 Peter and Jude share several common themes and were designed to strengthen the faith of Christians who were being unsettled by false prophets and teachers within the apostolic churches. Both Peter and Jude show that the problem of false doctrine is nothing new among the people of God. By using examples and warnings from the Old Testament Scriptures they encourage their fellow believers to remain faithful to the gospel, to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus, and to live in the light of Christ's second coming.

Mark Johnston's contemporary commentary shows that these themes are as relevant to Christians today as they were in the first century.

The book of Revelation is God's final word to the church, a mighty unveiling of things He wants the church to know in language and forms which dazzle and frequently shock. Perhaps for this reason, many Christians find Revelation intimidating. Derek Thomas writes to dispel some of this fear. He shows that Revelation is above all a book about Jesus Christ. While intended to humble us by a vision of the absolute sovereignty of God over all events, past, present and future, it is also meant to comfort us in times of trouble with the knowledge of Christ's ultimate victory. Derek Thomas guides us through the series of seven amazing visions which show the outworking of the words of Jesus to Peter: "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." The whole unfolding Let's Study series is a must for every Christian home that is serious about getting to know the Word.
