Ephesians 3:20-21

Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

To ponder

The first experience that has to be mentioned is the feeling of rapturous joy. When the Spirit of the Resurrection is experienced, a person breathes freely again, and gets up out of the defeats and anxieties of his or her life.... We begin to love life with the love of God.... Peace is another experience of God's Spirit in our restless souls: peace with God in Christ, and peace because... We experience how deeply the love of God has been poured into our hearts.

—Jurgen Moltmann, The Source of Life

One love

I fall on my knees in wonder at the staggering complexity of your love at work in all I see. The night sky reveals a universe filled with light, color, and staggering stretches of darkness. On Easter Vigil, and every night, the heavens are lit by billions of stars in billions of galaxies, their light racing across light-years of space to delight my eye and move me to wonder.

You said, "Let there be light!" and light exploded, shattering the darkness. Everything that has happened since are facets of one great story--the story of how you continue to shatter the darkness and draw every blessed thing into union with your love, Holy One.

This is your plan and promise, and your church, drawn together by the love of Christ, is a foretaste of the unity of love and color, beauty and joy you are creating.

Glory to you, Holy One, for your plan and promise to draw all that we see and are—all that is and will be—into one love, the love of Christ that no death can defeat.

You created the world to be one holy communion in your love. Unite us and all that is in the triumphant love of Christ. Amen.
