How much research did Under a Desert Sky take?
My visit there provided the sensory perception experiences that allowed me to walk in Eva’s shoes. I also read books about the area’s rich history and interviewed the local historian.
What are the most interesting facts that you learned while researching and writing Under a Desert Sky?
Georgia O’Keeffe’s love of the area which inspired her paintings and her eventual home.
Ghost Ranch received its name honestly! Lots of wild things happened there. The ranch hosted both the rich and famous, and the villains.
It’s also the site of the movie City Slickers.
What are some of the challenges you face as an author?
My personal level of professionalism. Each book has to go deeper in characterization and motivation, and the plot must spin the unexpected. I love suspense, whether the book is a historical or a contemporary.
What aspects of being a writer do you enjoy the most?
The writing process. It’s addictive.
What clubs or organizations are you involved with helping with your writing?

A founding member of American Christian Fiction Writers - ACFW.
