Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I loved owning horses over a twenty-year period. But, as I grew older, my back could no longer tolerate the pressure of riding. I haven't had horses for a long time, and I miss them very much. My favorite horse was Rex, a bay part Quarter Horse and part Tenn. Walker. He loved to sniff my pockets for sugar cubes.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Besides wanting to share the love of Christ in some exciting stories about kids and horses, one of the prime motivations was meeting an editor from Zonderkidz at a writers' conference. Since she offered me the contract to write the books, I guess you could say she was a BIG motivating factor.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I pray that readers will either accept Christ as their Savior or determine to live for Him every day better than they've ever done before.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  After the books came out, I was greatly impacted by emails and letters from my fans who love the books. The greatest thrill is when one of them says they've accepted Christ or have decided to live for God because they read the books.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My greatest influence is God's Word that teaches us about God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is my Savior and Lord. I am greatly inspired by other Christian writers, editors, and church friends.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee gret and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Matthew 10:32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is heaven."
