7th Heaven, Season 1 DVD Set
Watching the first two episodes-and ONLY teh first two episodes-doesn't mean you know what this show is about. I have watched every single episode of 7th heaven. I started watchign it when I was 8, and now I am 19. I grew up with these characters, and find myself relating certain situations in my life to things I've seen on this show. It's important to remember that 7th hevaen isn't a "christian" tv show. it went on normal cable TV. Nobody ever said that this show was created to teach Christians how to live, so you can't judge an apple based on your expectations of an orange. The things I don't like is that it isn't very realistic. If you watch the later seasons, the kids really don't have much knowledge of hte Bible and basic Christian beliefs. How is that possible if your dad is a minister? And yes, there's a lot of mention of boyfriends/girlfreinds. the oldest son has had so many girlfriends, I've lost count. But in the end, this show promotes wholesome family values-no smoking, no drugs, no sex before marriage-and it is very entertaining. and even if the kids do hide things from thier parents, in teh end the parents ALWAYS find out and the kids always get in toruble for it. And just because the parents hide one thing from each other doesn't mean they're evil. if that's what you think, I'd love to see how you and your wife are.

I bought this set of DVDs for my ten and eleven year old daughters. I was somewhat disappointed in the set as I felt it contained older teen issues that I didn't want my daughters exposed to yet. Overall, it was OK. My daughters didn't love it but they watched some of it.

I'm sorry, but 7th Heaven is one of the best family television programs that was ever created. I enjoyed watching it through the years and now I'm watching it all again from the beginning. There is a lesson in every episode and extremely positive family values. I just finished the second season and can hardly make it through one episode without therapeutic tears.

I have to disagree about the bad ratings. My 14 year old daughter loved it. She felt like it was more like real life. We talked about what they did wrong. I didn't always agree with everything but they usually confessed and told their parents. Even in the later episodes they made a big deal about some mistakes Simon made.
