Product Description

Set in Partonville, a circle-the-square town in Illinois where farming and progress meet head on. Dorothy Wetstra, 87, is the town's spunky matriarch, in her own glorious and time-honored way, but she's far from perfect. Her relationship with "the Big Guy" is filled with every-day talk like, "Dear Lord, DO SOMETHING! Riotous fun, the adventures of the Wild Musketeers, Partonville's senior citizens softball team, struggles with change and strong family, intergenerational and transforming relationships drive the stories down the country roads and right into your heart.

Publisher's Description

Charlene Ann Baumbich?s two heartwarming Dearest Dorothy novels have transported thousands to a little Midwestern town where the ups and downs of everyday life have charmed readers and left them clamoring for more. Of course, the character everyone has come to love is the feisty former bandleader, 87-year-old Dorothy Jean Wetstra. Now in Dearest Dorothy, Help! I?ve Lost Myself! Partonville marks its centennial plus thirty?by arguing over the best way to celebrate it. Meanwhile, the acting mayor is trying to change a vital part of the town square (but it?s always been that way!) and a newcomer named Katie can?t avoid the suspicion that she?s grown far closer to this quirky little place than she had ever intended. Delightful and touching, this tale is every bit as addictive as its predecessors.

While this book wasn't as funny or fast-paced as the first two in the series, it had moments that made me smile...especially the antics of the older gentlemen in town. There is a mystery involving Katie and Dorothy, and the necessity of practicing forgiveness is the underlying theme. There are a lot of characters to keep up with, but such is small-town life!
