Skye Nicholson once was a rebellious juvenile delinquent who lived in numerous foster homes and had a hard time loving anyone, especially herself. But that was before finding a love of horses and a family in the Chambers at Keystone Stable. Now a friend from her past life, Sooze Bodmer, has come to Keystone Stables as well, and Skye is challenged to help a friend who reminds her a lot of herself. Skye teaches Sooze the ins and outs of horse care, riding, and showing, and she helps her train Pepsi, a champion quarter horse, for the halter class at the upcoming horse show.

Tell us a little about yourself. When I'm not writing, editing other authors' work, or doing homeschool evaluations, I like to spend time playing Scrabble online, reading the Bible and Christian books, watching Fox News, and walking my dogs. I also play the organ in our church and write the narration for the Christmas program in church every year.
What was your motivation behind this project? I've always loved horses and kids. With so many years' experience with both, I thought I could pull together some really exciting stories that were based on fact. It looks like it worked! The motivation was to share the love of Christ with kids.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray that readers will either accept Christ as their Savior or they'll determine to serve the Lord more faithfully in their daily walk with Him.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It's hypocritical to say one thing and do another. I determined to walk closer to the Lord and serve Him more faithfully, too.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My greatest influence is the Lord Jesus Christ. I also lean on His Word each day for guidance and encouragement. Other sources of inspiration are other Christian writers and my church family.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
