People have strange notions and do some of the craziest things, but I don't mind them. I get all the attention I want from Mama, Papa, and my sweet baby sister, Annika, who loves my kisses. But there's one thing lacking.people food. I love people food. After you've had it, dried-up dog food tastes like cardboard. That's why I count on my absolute favorite person in the world, Papa, who calls me his "Granddawg," and his best friend, Sellars. They've been known to slip me the good stuff now and then, when Mama and Grandma aren't looking.

    Tell us a little about yourself.  Raised in a military family, I had the privilege of living in France, Germany, and a number of U.S. states--Alaska being my favorite. I set aside my career of teaching English to fulfill my dream of writing in 2006, and this book is the second of The Dachshund Escapades series.

    What was your motivation behind this project?  I wanted to continue Sarge’s story—he’s my real “granddawg” Shadow and is called Sarge in the series. In I AM DACHSHUND, he has some humorous escapades with a couple of cats, another doxie joins the family, as well as a new baby.

    What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I want readers to know that God's love is unconditional, and that can have that love by asking Him. Today's society is seeing a major decline in Christian principles, fellowship, and family. This book addresses all three by providing family relationships that are warm, loving, and spirit filled. People will also find from this book that a sense of humor in no way detracts, but rather enhances, one's Christian walk!

    How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  This second book also brought back some wonderful memories of my late father, known as "Papa Duke" in the books. The writing of this book reminded me how truly blessed I am!

    Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Aside from the Lord, my late father was a special man whom I miss greatly and is one of the main characters in the book. The stories about him actually happened! He was also a great dog lover, and although he and Shadow never met, I know they would have a "mutual admiration society" just as the book depicts.

    Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I became a Christian at age 28, although I was an active church member. Over time, I came to the realization that I had never accepted Christ as my personal Savior, and did so at a church revival meeting. All my church activities meant nothing without a personal knowledge of salvation! Readers must make certain of their own eternal destination. It is too important to let this slide, because there are no guarantees in life apart from the Lord.
