Product DescriptionBig Apple. Bigger Problems. The success of the Forrester sisters' On the Runway TV show lands them a hot ticket to Fashion Week in New York City. Paige is determined to garner the attention of New York's top designers, but her newfound fame threatens to go to her head. Erin wants to help promote the work of some eco-minded designers, but struggles to be taken seriously. Can Paige keep her prima donna behavior in check? Will Erin's involvement hurt the people she's really trying to help? Success in the big city comes with even bigger challenges, and as the pressure grows, so does the drama.

Author Bio Melody Carlson has written more than 200 books for teens, women, and children. Before publishing, Melody traveled around the world, volunteered in teen ministry, taught preschool, raised two sons, and worked briefly in interior design and later in international adoption. 'I think real-life experiences inspire the best fiction,' she says. Her wide variety of books seems to prove this theory.
ChristianBookPreviews.comThe theme of Melody Carlsons Catwalk, the second book in her On the Runway series, challenges readers to dream big and follow Gods plan for their lives. The underlying theme can be summed up by Proverbs 16:9: A mans heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. The main character, Erin Forrester, does not know what her goals in life are or how to reach them. Overall, this fun, fashion-filled book takes readers through different relationships Erin is trying to breathe life back into.
Melody Carlson has always had a talent for writing books that are relatable for Christian teens. In this book, she focuses on describing the feelings Erin is experiences as she strives to develop a career, stay friends with her gal-pals, keep up with school responsibilities, and stay connected to her family. In Catwalk,, some of Erins closest friends are turning away from her, but she discovers how much loyalty she has for her friends and family. In the course of the book, Erin travels way out of her comfort zone and begins the process of getting in front of the camera. She models for photos, but she also tries to model a walking Christian testimony. While trying to find her place in the world, she is unsure if she wants to stand out by standing up for what is against the crowd or just stand out by fitting in. Erin tries to please everyone, but realizes that this way of life is not a happy life. She learns to stand up for what she believes in, and she finds out what being a Christian truly is all about. I thought the book lets the reader in on how a true young person thinks. I loved how Erin asks questions about what a real or good Christian would do or say. Catwalk shows how real relationships rise and fall, weaken or grow stronger. I would recommend this book to young adults wanting to discover more realistic situational truths about Christianity.
