1599 Geneva Bible, Patriot's Edition
I purchased two Geneva Bibles (Patriot's Edition), one for me and one as a gift for a friend. I was very pleased with it; however, my friend was ecstatic. Every time I see him, he continues to rave about his gift, and what new feature he had discovered. Thank you for the many excellent products that you offer!

Good; leather bound better investment.
This translation of the Bible and the way it is presented in this copy is very good; the addition of the extras (prayers by St. Augustine, the Magna Carta, etc.) is also very nice. However the cover is easily damaged and the binding seems weak. It would probably be a better investment to buy a leather bound version but this is an excellent Bible otherwise.

This could be my favorite translation!
When using a translation with other material, such as, commentaries by John Calvin or Martin Luther, having this Geneva Bible is a must! This is the English translation " extent " for the 16th Century. If you need a Bible with Reformation Notes by the " Reformers ", this by far, is the Bible for you!

I actually bought this for the extra's, The Mayflower Compact, Washington's Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior and such. I find it quite interesting to see how it was edited and how words have changed since Middle English times. " "Again he said, Art thou that my son Easu?" Who answered, Yea. " I also find the old fashioned misspelling to be such a delight, I'm glad they left them as they were written. There is a charming copy of a imprint from 1599 greeting you a few pages in that shows what the bible looked like so long ago. "The Bible, that is, the holy scriptures conteined in the Olde and Newe Teftament ... " I adore the historical aspect of it and would recommend it to anyone.
