The three boys, Raven, Mace, and Vine live with Will, their angel master. They follow commands from heaven, acting against evil, and the minions of the devil. In this short story, Vine, the youngest boy, receives his wings. This is a prequel for Heather Burch's Halflings series. This is an exciting series and this short story is a race from beginning to end as the boys go on a mission to save a group of kids at a concert. Burch weaves a gripping story, sure to please teen readers and a great many more. If you like clean, gripping, action, you will love this!

Ember's ReviewsAge: 25-34Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5strong lead-in to the Halflings seriesDecember 15, 2011Ember's ReviewsAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Who can't resist a free e-book? This short story is an interesting lead-in to a very cool sounding series. The writing was well done, though I must admit that I wasn't very keen on the illustrations, they weren't really my thing. Not quite how I imagined the characters. But all in all, definitly worth a strong 4-star rating. I can't wait to read book 1, Halflings, coming this January.

Terry, OHOHAge: 55-65Gender: Female2 Stars Out Of 5More of a teen readDecember 22, 2011Terry, OHOHAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 2Value: 5Meets Expectations: 2I always appreciate free downloads. However this was a 20 page preview of the book. I love fantasy. Good, clean, thought provoking fantasy. Just from reading the preview it seems more of a teen book. Writing wasn't deep. I am a little concerned about what the book is about. From readying the summary I assume a angel or half angel is attracted to a human. That content doesn't sit well with me. I enjoy Karen Hancock's fantasy and also Reachel Starr Thompson series starting with "Worlds Unseen" is excellent good and evil. I will not be purchasing this book.
