In the first of the pastoral epistles, Paul wrote to Timothy to encourage him in the faith, and affirming his leadership and abilities. Paul gave him guidelines for choosing leadership within the congregation to help in his ministry. These guidelines are the most thorough instruction for choosing strong and godly leaders. Each lesson in this study is designed to take 60 to 90 minutes to complete. There are 10 lessons that cover false teachers, an overview, grace, how the church works, officers in the church, words to Timothy, various instructions, love of money, final charge, looking back, background information, and study aids. Scriptures are taken from the New International Version.
