After the suicide of her oldest brother, Yasmin Peaces life is anything but peaceful. Her fathers in jail, her brothers York and Yancy stir up trouble in and out of school, and her mom struggles to support them and be a good mother. All this has Yasmin wondering where God is in all this. When Yasmin begins praying, she sees how things change. Life is still difficult and full of challenges, but God always providesgood friends, an uplifting mentorand with Him by her side, she can face whatever life throws.I enjoyed reading about Yasmin and delving into the details of her life. She has a lot of spunk and attitude, and it was great to see how she deals with friends, petty girls, and finding God in the midst of tragedy. The book was a little too preachy at points, but overall, I enjoyed it. Im looking forward to book two and seeing what Yasmin will encounter next. June 18, 2010
