Publisher's Description
There is a universal restlessness today among believers, young and oldunease, unhappiness, and unrest that exists in our pursuit of happiness.
Unarguably we find the answer in the life and salvation of Jesus Christ. Undeniably the miracles of His virgin birth, death on the cross, and resurrection from the grave hold the key to eternal life and ultimate joy. But what if in addition to these awaited a miracle revealed in Jesus' three years of public ministry, the roughly 1,000 days that followed His life of otherwise relative obscuritythe 1,000 days that were intentionally lived and documented?
In 1,000 Days Jonathan Falwell presents the unique chance to study this miracle, looking closely at those last three years in Jesus' life and revealing vital information form the gospels for our lives today. Meet Jesus like never before when you take a second (or maybe third or fourth) look at what He said in those 1,000 days. Each chapter also includes a special Bible study for use either by individuals or small groups.
Find rest in His invitation to make His mission your mission. Discover, as Falwell has, that a picture of the life of Jesus is worth a thousand days.
Publisher's Weekly
Falwell, successor to his father, the late influential Christian pastor Jerry Falwell, at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Va., makes his publishing debut in this book, which he asserts gives readers the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ as never before, a bold claim for a novice author that readers may find arguable. Falwell maps out various integral moments of the 1,000 days of Jesus ministry and interprets for readers how their lives on earth can become similarly transformative. He challenges readers to be real with God, asking, for example, if, while we are singing at church, our hearts are in it. The strongest challenge of the book occurs when the author asks, When Jesus looks at me does he see a modern-day Pharisee? The challenges and questions are porous enough to allow for any number of ways the reader can follow Jesus 1,000 days with a thousand of their own, while not looking like him at all. A great help in spiritual development
I read this book at a perfect time in my own spiritual journey. Over the past few months I have been taking time to get closer to God and develop a more in depth relationship with him. While reading this book, I believe I was able to move a step further in my relationship with Him. Even though I have heard the stories and parables many times, this book brought them all together into a nice timeline that made it all click.
As an entrepreneur I can definitely learn a lot. Mr. Falwell, points out how Christ took the ordinary people (just like you and me) and made them extraordinary. By working on my connection and allowing God to take more control of my life, I know that I can become and extraordinary person as well. It is all about choosing your mission and sticking to it no matter what difficulties lie ahead. If these men and women in the Bible were able to do that, why can't I? I can.
Mr. Falwell inserted an important opportunity for us to work on this connection through discussion questions at the end of each chapter. I am able to use these questions on my personal journey and I know you will be able to as well. I believe that this book is perfect for a small group study as well; the questions can definitely be used for group discussion as well as self-reflection.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to further their connection along their spiritual journey with God. It is a quick read with many thought provoking and poignant opportunities.

Good Read.
Have you ever thought about this fact? Our salvation was purchased on the cross by Jesus Christ and He was able to do this by being the spotless Lamb of God, the perfect One, both fully human and fully divine. The miracles, teachings, and insights didn't really play that large of a part. After all, having done all the miracles and so forth and having failed to be resurrected, Christ would be like every other religious leader throughout history. Obviously knowing the in's and out's of Christ's ministry gives us direction on how to live and the path to follow in seeking relationship with Him. This book is written from that standpoint, that is, Christ could have accomplished the cross and remained low key throughout his 33 years on earth, but He chose to take His ministry public and make sure that He left disciples competent and capable to carry on His teachings. This makes the happenings and occurrences which took place in that 3 and a half years or 1000 days of ministry very revealing.
Falwell does a great job at beginning the book with a hook to grab the reader's attention. Beginning with a story about individuals seeking the next thrill in order to keep experiencing a semblance of joy in their lives, Falwell ponders the thought that we have made Christianity and church another thrill seeking adventure that must outdo each time before to hold our interest. Falwell calls it spiritual "restlessness." The cure: finding life in Christ through His teachings over the 1000 days of ministry He conducted.
Falwell does a great job throughout the book at pointing out well known scriptures and diving deeper into stories and parables often quoted but whose meanings are often looked over. If I'm honest, about midway through the book, it got a little boggy, but as Falwell began to breakdown the events just before and during Holy Week, the reader finds himself being encountered by the humanity and divinity of Christ in a way that causes you to fall in love with Him afresh and anew all while realizing a new desire to emulate the Son of God and accomplish His purposes in your life.
If I had any negative critique, it would be that Falwell spends at least two or three chapters promoting his doctrine of eternal security. And while as the author of the book that is certainly his choice, the book's flow seems to be a little interrupted with the doctrinal push. I say that only to point out that this could be a stumbling block for the readers who will read this book for all the reasons listed above and end up having to read a defense of a doctrine they may or may not believe. In fact, referring to sporadically as he does may end up causing more questions than answers for the average reader.
Altogether though, the book was very good and I would recommend it. My copy included some exhaustive notes in the back as well as an index detailing 100 great events in the life of Christ which is as treasure.

Easy Read
The Ministry of Christ: 1000 Days is a look at the last three years of Jesus Christ's life. While Jesus lived roughly 33 years on this earth, his public ministry was only 3 years, which is roughly 1000 days of ministry. The Falwell explains how we can apply the teachings of Jesus to our own lives.
This book was simply written, easy to understand and I came away encouraged after reading it.

This book had me in tears...
The Ministry of Christ: 1000 Days is a walk through the history of Jesus' life and a walk through our intimate plan of salvation. Author, Jonathan Falwell, advocates the concept of 'happiness of less' as a key to true peace and accepting authentic joy through Jesus rather then skimpy and temporary happiness that this reckless world can offer. This book walks you through the events during Jesus' 1000 day ministry and how these events reveal to us the lives Jesus advocates we walk today. It focuses on topics such as enduring temptation, how to pray like Jesus, how to achieve peace, how to face hypocrisy/overcome it, diving into radical love, and how to be an ordinary person living an extraordinary life. The book wraps up by turning the attention to Calvary and the significance of Jesus' last words and His great victory over our sins. Therefore, we also, are victors in Christ.
This book had me in tears and drew me to a closer understanding and more personal relationship with the one who gave everything and endured an endless weight of suffering to give me freedom in Him.
